² Aaron answered them, “Take the gold earrings off your wives and sons and daughters and bring them to me.” ³ All the people took off their gold earrings and brought them to Aaron. ⁴ He took the gold from their hands and fashioned it with a chisel and made a molten calf.^[a] They said, “Behold your God, O Israel, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.”
